Questions
What is a rising sign? The Rising sign (Ascendant) is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the minute and place of your birth. It describes how you meet the world and the first impression you make. It changes about every two hours, so it needs your birth time and city.
What is my Moon sign? The sign the Moon was in when you were born. It describes your emotional needs: what makes you feel safe and how you react. The Moon changes sign every two to two and a half days.
What is the Big Three in astrology?Your Sun, Moon and Rising signs: the core of a birth chart. The Sun is who you are at the core, the Moon is what you need, the Rising sign is how you meet others and start things.
What if I don't know my birth time? You still get your Sun sign and, on most days, your Moon sign. If the Moon changed sign on your birth day, we show both signs. The Rising sign needs a birth time: a birth certificate or hospital record often has it.
Why is my rising sign different on another site?Usually because of the time zone: many places changed their clocks and summer time rules over the years. We use the historical time zone of your birthplace. If your recorded minute of birth sits on the edge of two signs, we show both instead of guessing.
